Back To Work.
May,31,2009

Well all good things must come to an end and I am back to work from tomorrow. Actual shooting work, though, starts around the 15th of June, and I have to confess that these last 2 months I have missed the other Idiots.

Have played quite a few board games these past few weeks. Have you guys tried Settlers Of Catan? I think thatís my top favorite. Followed by Age Of Empires, Carrcassonne and Scotland Yard. These are all group games needing 4 to 6 players. Good fun. Would love your suggestions on board games you think I should try.

Most disturbing to hear about racist attacks on Indians living in Australia. Quite a shame. While this doesnít mean that all Australians are racists, the frequency and seriousness of such attacks, I think, calls for an extra ordinary reaction from the Australian authorities. And while we want action to be taken by authorities in Australia, equally we should remember all the various crimes against foreigners who visit India.
Let us hope and pray that Shravan recovers soon.

I see that Glen my skiing instructor has joined us. Well Glen if you are reading this you need to corroborate all my skiing achievements. Nobody here seems to believe that I was doing Black slopes on Day 4. Actually I suspect it was Day 3.

Well I'm back folks.

Hello hello hello. :-)

Hey Aamir ............yup i agree with you that all Australians
are not racist .......but the concerned authorities in Australia
must take some serious action and punish the culprits ........and
Indians too have to mutually cooperate by making foreigners
secure.......you are the rational person , good human and a super
cool actor ........and your super cool movie is "ANDAZ APNA APNA
" & "TARE ZAMEEN PAR".......

Hi Aamir=D
how are u?ur the best actor ever..I hope to meet u one day. I
live in Australia and I think these racial attacks should be
stoppd and the government should take action against racism. It is
not fair, that a few people action gives Australia a bad name. Not
all people are racist in Australia and I am very sad about it..
Anyways lets leave at a good note,I am looking forward to your
new release, I am very excited..Love u always Aamir From Vineeta

KATIE and PKG,

Have never seen Bridges of Madison County, but I am sure it can
be made for Bollywood (if it hasn't been already).

Take SOUND OF MUSIC for e.g., A single woman (nun) goes to work
at a widower's house and take care of his kids. They fall in love
and get married.

Back in the 60's such a concept would not have flown in India,
because our society was a lot more conservative back then.

So out comes PARICHAY in which a grandfather hires a teacher to
teach his 5 bratty grandkids whose parents have died. The teacher
and the eldest girl fall in love and get married.

(So a single woman working for and marrying a widower was risque,
but a teacher marrying his student was acceptable---such is the
cultural diference!)

@Moyoyo
Sorry, we can't tell you more than: he is online when he IS
online! You can tell when he either posts a blog entry, writes
replies to our comments or when he is even in the chat room. Then
it shows in the window above. It's a question of plain luck if
you catch him.

@Katie,
hmmmmm, Bridges of Madison County! That film has a very special
place in my heart because of it's link to my romantic past....
Would love to see Aamir in it..... BUT, I strongly doubt one
could adopt it for India. As far as I remember one important plot
issue was the hero's inability to express his feelings. A very
typical western Lonely Wolf thing for which Clint Eastwood is so
perfectly suited because he has that constant poker face. For me
that's a very western concept and I'm not too keen of seeing that
kind of stupid machoism enter Indian films too. It's enough that
western culture if full of it.....
.... just rambling ,....
PkG!

@Katie,

Here kitty, kitty, kitty. Like I said the rain made me do it. My
Dad didnít tell me anything when I got married; I think he was
just happy I was off his hands. I was a handful, or so the story
goes. Now Iím sweet and quiet. Stop laughing Katie, its true,
honest; really would I pull your leg?
