I am basically from bombay and have been living in singapore for
over 2 yrs now... i had an opportunity to see GHAJINI here whn it
was screened in singapore... it was one of the best tamil movies
that i have seen in the recent past.. and of course a lot of
credit goes to Surya for his work... It would be very interesting
to see YOU play that part.. really looking forward to it... I
think 'Mememto' is a classic... though GHAJINI is not a remake
but i would say it is a movie which intended to open up a new
concept to Indian cinema.. and the only way to do that would be
to simplify the narration...murugadoss just happnd to understnd
his audience better and just churned out a classic for them...

I have always admired you as a person k(not that i reallynow abu
'U') its more to do with the way to conduct yourself and things
lik that.. i simply admire your passion and commitment towards
work and the risks that you take to get the best out of
yourself... i still remember an interview with Barkha Dutt(NDTV)
whn lagaan was nominated for Oscars and she questioning you on
why do u accept these international acclaims and do not honour
the so called 'Indian awards'.. i likd your asnwer on that.. !
anyways all said and done i think u r one of the best in business
and wish u continue dng this grt job...

Hi Aamir!!.. just got to know of this blog from dubai
radio(listening to it from singapore!!).. technology has just
gone way ahead.. imagine u can now talk to anybody on the planet!
this sounds grt... quoting that i should say tht i have been your
admirer since i was about 5 yrs old.. one of my first favourites
was 'Jawani Zindabad'!! I still dont understnd why i likd that
movie so much when i was a kid.. would have seen it some 500 odd
times not even knowing who the hero was.. sounds weard right!?? i
do share the same emotions!.. probably because that was one of
the few cassettes in owned(in days where having a VCR was a big
thing)... later this realisation dawned on me that probably the
whole reason i liked the movie was because i likd 'Aamir
Khan'!!.. i know tht a strange way to start off with 'fan
following'.. howver i can also put it in another way saying that
i could recognize talent at that young age!!!! heheheh

did watch the promo of ur directorial debut...Taare Zameen
Par...honestly i feel the title is apt however my concern is that
maybe uve touched on a VERY sensitive subject. We all know
"special" children do exist in this world but how most of us make
them feel special is by treating them to be "not so special".
From the promos it seems u r an art teacher and r trying to bring
out the creativity in the kids, getting them to express them
selves via art. i sincerely hope that after this movie people
dont come out of the theatre feeling sorry for the children with
special needs but feel appreciative of wat they can and have
achieved. I hope your movie is projected in this light. Let me
wish you luck wit ur venture and i hope it doesnt disappoint.
movies about 'special' kids r very sensitive and thats exactly
wat i would like your movie to be and not just a 'guilt trip'
before christmas!.

couldn't resist this one "A dyslexic child is for life not just
for Xmas"

one more thing @Kizher - these so called "special kids" can go on
to become very successful in adult life. One great example is Sir
Richard Branson the CEO of Virgin in the UK. He was dyslexic as a
child, but this didn't stop him from acheiving great success.
Just look at him today, he is now part of the "special group" -
the billionaires group!!! So in all honesty no one should be feel
"guilty" about these "special kids" espcially just before
christmas! Have a fab weekend Kizher and fellow friends. Tabby

@ Kizher - interesting how you've labelled Dyslexic children
"Special children". Why would such movies about 'special' kids
seen as being senstive? Are you concerned that dyslexia may
challenge Indian sensibilites? Is Dyslexia something not
addressed in t

season's greetings to all...
well aamir...this is my first post on ur "blog" n hope u do read
it. i am not a fan of urs but a critic..i watch ur movies and at
times enjoy them. I am a fan of ur taste in films and
productions. your movies r indeed thought provoking although the
credibility of some of them are debatable.
